"In a game of chess, there's a reason the queen does more than the king."
Since the beginning of time, gender-roles has been prevalent. Men would always be better, have more opportunities, and should be obeyed by the opposite sex. The gender stereotype of girls liking pink, wearing frilly skirts, not causing trouble, and being a good housewife. Women are also very important beings in society. We are not just your nanny or baby making machines. Gender-roles and stereotypes are the reason why discrimination on not just women, but on everyone is still a big problem today. But as time goes by, slowly, that is starting to change. Because of how tired this generation is to be suppressed by these stereotypes and not being able to freely express themselves.
People may not notice, but discrimination already starts at a very young age, because at young, we are already taught what we should and should not do as girls, and what we should and should not do as boys. We already had our actions and decisions forced upon a certain category. But this doesn't stop us by speaking our minds. Throughout history, although the fight being harsh, many women has rewritten history many times, and changing the perceptions of women only being weak.
Discrimination and stereotypes are stupid. Women can do what men can do, and men can equally do what a woman can do. Recently, although yes, it's nice that women are not being looked down upon as much, but ladies, this doesn't give us the right to disrespect men. What difference is it if we downgrade men just to lift us up? Respect goes both ways, a little reminder in order to walk towards a better equality.
For the National Woman's Month this March, we celebrate and respect women of different color, gender, race and occupation. Keeping in mind our history and the struggles us women went through. We celebrate this month our liberty, and our worth.

I like that you discussed that stereotypes are one of the reasons for discrimination and that stereotypes can start at a very young age. I also admire that you included that respect must go both ways. We indeed need to stop discrimination for us to have a better world. Have a good day!
