"Happy Heart Day!"

        Ah, the Month of Love has come and gone. Valentine's day, also called St. Valentine's Day celebrated on February 14 is when people express their affection with greetings and gifts, and other actions. The day where we spend time with the people we love and care about, whether it be friends, family, or even a significant other. 

        Because of lockdown, it was more difficult for most people to express their love. it's either we can't meet or hug that person. But there are always other means to express our love, such as messages, gifts, video calls, etc. 

            Like me, I know most people would be mulling over the 14th as they are either single, or are not loved back by their crush. We either end up cooped up in our rooms, covered in blankets, binge watching films, and eating ice cream and chocolates all by ourselves. 

        But mulling over someone not loving you back or not having someone to love on this day is wasteful on our precious time. Valentine's isn't always just with friends, families, or a significant other. We can take this time to treat ourselves for once in a while. Maybe getting a new haircut, dressing up even if you have nowhere to go, or treating yourself to foods that you restricted for yourself because you are on that extreme K-pop idol diet or something. 

    Remember to always love and treat yourself right first, before loving someone else, or asking someone to love you back. You are worth it, and you should know that, in all your quirks and perfs. Take this holiday to spend quality time with friends, family, or just some alone time.

    Love is but a single word, that holds a universal amount of meanings. One of them being you yourself.
