Kannawidan Festival 2021 Celebration!
The provincial government, through its provincial tourism office, announced strict guidelines to be observed during the festival to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Unlike the past Kannawidan festivals where it was celebrated for a month, this year it only ran through a week, from Friday January 29 to February 5. Held in the Heritage City of Vigan, the festival opened with the ribbon cutting of the Trade and Food Fair at the Kannawidan Grounds in barangay Tamag where the one-town-one-product of the towns and cities of the province are displayed.
Some activities have been cancelled to prevent any more spread of the virus, and to protect the safety and well-being of the people. Everyone is required to follow community health guidelines, not just the guests, but also the participants.
Despite the situation that we are facing today, we are able to come together and while following safety guidelines, because of the pride that we have in able to showcase the products municipalities and cities all over Ilocos Sur that defines them.
